The US. Department of State hosted the second Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom in Washington on July 16-18. This especial event reaffirmed international commitments to promote religious freedom for all and focus on concrete outcomes that produce durable, positive change for all and especially for the persecuted minorities. A broad range of stakeholders convened to discuss challenges, identify concrete ways to combat religious persecution and discrimination, and ensure greater respect for freedom of religion or belief.

During this three-day session Yazda team met with a number of high-level civil society leaders and organizations that are involved in humanitarian and advocacy work in Middle East and particularly in North-western territory in Iraq where Yazidis reside. The team highlighted and discussed the current issues facing the Yazidis in Sinjar as well as in displaced Camps and proposed plausible solutions for those problems

On behalf of Yazda we want to thank the Office of International Religious Freedom in U.S. State Department for hosting the largest event of this kind and for inviting Yazda to participate.
