Yazda announces the release of its new report on the implementation of the Yazidi Survivors Law (YSL), highlighting the progress made in the law so far, persistent gaps in access, and the ongoing challenges survivors continue to face in exercising their rights under the law.
This report is the result of an extensive assessment led by Yazda, which gathered insights from over 600 Yazidi survivors, along with consultations and interviews with 31 organizations working with survivors from all communities covered by the YSL, including Yazidis, Turkmen, Christians, and Shabak. The report provides a comprehensive analysis of the current status of the law’s implementation and sheds light on key areas that require urgent attention, including administrative delays, financial barriers, and the need for more survivor-centered support services.
Importantly, the report includes practical and actionable recommendations aimed at improving the delivery of services under the law and ensuring that all survivors can access their rights fairly, efficiently, and with dignity.
This publication is part of Yazda’s broader efforts to advocate for justice, accountability, and reparations for survivors of ISIS atrocities and to support long-term recovery and rehabilitation.
